Hi, I’m Polly. After working as a teacher and spending years ministering to youth, I decided to combine my love for education and gospel proclamation by becoming a high school chaplain. I was ordained in the Anglican church in Sydney in 2020 and support high school chaplains in my role as School’s Ministry Development Officer for the diocese. I have gone on to study further to contribute to the academic conversation around school chaplaincy, and I will begin a PhD in Practical Theology in 2027. I am particularly interested in understanding how to preach to youth in different contexts. In 2025, I released the book “The Mythical Life of the Good Christian Girl: Realising True Freedom in Christ,” which centres around the gospel’s message of grace amidst pressures of perfectionism and religious performance. The book was nominated for Australian Christian Book of the Year in 2026. I’m married to James, a maths teacher with Labrador energy who loves cats, and I spend my free time with loved ones and creating things.
